ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ivy League champion Cornell men’s basketball team will begin play in the 2009-10 NCAA tournament when it meets No. 5 seed Temple on Friday, March 19 at 12:30 p.m. at Jacksonville Veterns Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla. Cornell will open its fifth NCAA tournament in program history in a nationally televised game on CBS, while Barry Leonard will provide the call on 93.5 WVBR-FM. Per NCAA regulations, live streaming audio will not be available as part of the RedCast subscription service, but live streaming video for all out of area games is available on March Madness on Demand at no charge on the NCAASports.com web site.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- An already historic season continues for the Cornell women’s hockey team, as it makes its first appearance in the NCAA Division I Women’s Hockey Frozen Four. The Big Red will battle top-seeded Mercyhurst in the first of two national semifinals at 6 p.m. EDT on Friday at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn. The winner of Friday’s contest will face the winner of the other semifinal between Minnesota and Minnesota-Duluth in the national championship game at 1 p.m. EDT on Sunday. Live audio of Cornell’s games will be available free of charge through the Cornell Redcast service, while live stats will also be available through links posted on CornellBigRed.com.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men’s hockey team will head to Albany, N.Y., for the ECAC Hockey semifinals and championship this weekend, to be played at the Times Union Center in downtown Albany. The Big Red will face upstart Brown in the semifinal before facing either Union or St. Lawrence in the consolation or championship game on Saturday. Both semifinals on Friday night will be televised by the NHL Network, while Saturday’s championship game will be televised live on Fox College Sports and on the NHL Network on tape delay Sunday morning. Fans in the Ithaca area can hear Jason Weinstein’s call of the games on WHCU 870 AM, while Cornell Redcast subscribers will also get live streaming audio of both contests. Additionally, live video of the game is available on the internet through B2 Networks.
