ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men’s lacrosse freshman Cody Bremner was named one of 10 finalists for the Canadian National Junior of the Year Award, as well as second-team All-Canadian, by the NLL Insider. Dillan Ward, a goaltender for the Orangeville Northmen and teammate of Cornell’s Jason Noble, took home the top honor.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Ben DeLuca, the Richard M. Moran Head Coach of Men's Lacrosse, has announced the Cornell men’s lacrosse incoming class of 2014.The Big Red, looking to replace nine graduated seniors, will add 11 players to next year’s squad, five of which earned high school All-American honors. The group is comprised of seven midfielders, two attackmen, one defensemen and one goalkeeper. Additionally, the players represent five states and two Canadian provinces with five players hailing from New York, and one each from California, Connecticut, Virginia, Washington, British Columbia and Ontario.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Ben DeLuca, the Richard M. Moran Head Coach of Men's Lacrosse, has announced the hiring of his second assistant coach as Paul Richards will join the staff for the 2011 season. As an assistant coach on DeLuca’s staff, Richards will undertake a myriad of responsibilities. On the field, he will be in charge of face-offs and substitutions, while assisting in all facets of the offensive unit. Richards will also serve as recruiting coordinator for the staff as well as performing other administrative duties.

Cornell alumnus Brad Kamedulski ’10 was selected as a member of the first-ever Polish National Lacrosse team, which finished in 14th place at the Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships, held in Manchester, England. Kamedulski, whose grandfather Eugene Kamedulski was a Polish war hero fighting for the Allies in World War II before immigrating to the United States in 1954, acquired dual-citizenship this spring and was one of nine Americans on the team.

Cornell alumnus Max Seibald ’09 won a gold medal as a member of the US National Lacrosse team on Saturday when it defeated Canada, 12-10, at the Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships, in Manchester, England. Seibald, who made the national team for the first time in his career, was joined on the US squad by fellow Big Red alumnus Ryan McClay ’03.Following the tournament, both Seibald and McClay were named to the All-World Team.

MANCHESTER – A four-year long rebuilding project by the U.S. men’s national team culminated Saturday in a 12-10 victory over Canada, the team that beat the U.S. in 2006, in the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship final before 4,651 fans at the University of Manchester. Following the tournament, Cornell alumni Ryan McClay ’03 and Max Seibald ’09 were named to the All-World Team. McClay was a key component of the Team USA defense which allowed just 6.3 goals per game, while Seibald finished the tournament with nine goals and four assists.

Cornell alumnus Max Seibald ’09 has been selected as a member of the US National Lacrosse team, which will be competing in the upcoming Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships, held from July 16-24 in Manchester, England. During his stay, Seibald will provide journal entries for www.CornellBigRed.com. Seibald, who made the national team for the first time in his career, is joined on the US squad by fellow Big Red alumnus Ryan McClay ’03.
