ITHACA, N.Y. -- On the same day Cornell moved up to No. 22 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' poll, Big Red senior Jeff Foote was named the Ivy League men's basketball Player of the Week today, his third weekly honor of the 2009-10 season. Foote was dominant in the paint in sweeping Yale and Brown at home at Newman Arena.

ITHACA, NY – Jeff Foote scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Cornell to a 74-60 win over a pesky Brown team on Saturday night at Newman Arena. The Big Red secured its eighth straight win and remained in first place in the league with an unblemished 6-0 mark while improving to 20-3 overall. The victory secured the Big Red’s third straight 20-win season and fourth in school history. The Bears fell to 7-16, 1-5 in the league.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Fresh of its first national ranking since 1959, No. 25 Cornell never trailed in posting a 90-71 victory over Yale at Newman Arena on Friday night, logging its seventh-straight victory. Senior Jon Jaques paced four Big Red scorers in double figures with 17 points as the Big Red improved to 5-0 in the Ivy League and 19-3 overall. Yale fell to 8-14 (2-3 Ivy) with the loss.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell guards Geoff Reeves and Chris Wroblewski highlighted the 2009-10 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selections that were announced on Thursday afternoon for their dynamic performances on the court and in the classroom. The two were voted to the first team in District I and will be on the ballot with a chance to earn Academic All-America honors. The duo were among four Ivy League players chosen to the team, along with Columbia senior guard Patrick Foley and Brown senior forward Matt Mullery.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- For the first time in the history of the Cornell men's basketball program, the Big Red sit among the nation's top 25 teams in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll released this afternoon. The Big Red picked up 53 votes from the panel of 31 Division I head coaches to sit at No. 25 in the poll. The Big Red is also in the second spot of others receiving votes in the Associated Press top 25 poll.
