ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell fencing head coach Iryna Dolgikh has announced the Big Red’s incoming class of 2014. Cornell will add five fencers to next year’s squad, as Haley Conover (Comstock Park, Mich.), Kristi Conway (Wading River, N.Y.), Jennifer Lee (Parsippany, N.J.), Christine McIntosh (Clifton, N.J.) and April Whitney (Washington Depot, Conn.) will join the team for the 2010-11 season. The class of five comes from four different states and consists of three foil, one saber and one epee.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Cornell senior co-captain Tasha Hall recently competed in the North American Cup (NAC) for Division I Epee, where she placed 13th out of 120 competitors. A tournament for the top rated fencers in North America, fencers compete to earn points to make the National Team.

ITHACA, N.Y. – This past weekend, the Cornell fencing program hosted its annual alumni, friends and parents fencing tournament and year-end banquet. The day’s activities began at the Stifel Fencing Salle and featured four hours of fencing between alumni and the current Big Red team. Following the tournament, the participants gathered in the Hall of Fame Room to celebrate the season’s accomplishments, outstanding seniors, great alumni and dedicated parents.

ITHACA, N.Y. - Come celebrate the success of Cornell athletic teams from the winter season, including the women's ice hockey and wrestling team's national runner-up finishes, the men's basketball Sweet 16 run, men's ice hockey's NCAA appearance and ECAC title, gymnastics' Ivy Classic crown and the fencing team's top 15 NCAA finish with a celebration on Tuesday, April 6 beginning at 4 p.m. at Newman Arena. Featured guest speakers will include University President David J. Skorton, Vice President Susan Murphy and Director of Athletics Andy Noel. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the program beginning at 4:30 p.m., followed by an autograph session with the teams. Come celebrate with the teams and their coaches, along with the Big Red cheerleaders and Pep Band. Cornell merchandise will be on sale as well. The celebration is free and open to the public.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell women’s fencing head coach Iryna Dolgikh has been chosen to serve as a representative of the US Cadet and Junior Fencing Team as it travels to the World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. The tournament will run from April 2-10.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Cornell women's fencing team posted a 14th-place finish, using scorers in both saber and epee to place ahead of fellow Ivy schools Yale and Brown with 19 points. St. John's won the national title in a tight three-team race over runner-up Notre Dame and Penn State.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – At the conclusion of the first day of the 2010 NCAA Fencing Championships, the Big Red sits in 13th place. Cornell earned seven wins in epee and four wins in sabre.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – For the third consecutive season, the Big Red will be sending multiple fencers to the NCAA fencing championship on March 25 at Harvard. Senior Katherine Thompson (epee), freshman Addy McDonnell (epee), and freshman Beverly Yang (sabre) all earned their first trip to the tournament, while seniors Tasha Hall, Sallie Deitrich, and Dana Baines finished their impressive four-year careers with a strong showing as well.
