ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell field hockey team opens the 2010 season on the road this weekend as it takes on Lock Haven on Friday, Sept. 3 and Delaware on Sunday, Sept. 5. The game vs. the Eagles will be available to watch through the Lock Haven athletics department website, while the game against the Blue Hens will have live stats available through the University of Delaware athletic department website.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Donna Hornibrook has announced that Ali Harris will join the Big Red field hockey staff as an assistant coach for the 2010 season. Harris, who enjoyed a successful playing career at Lock Haven University, brings with her coaching experience on the both the club and collegiate levels.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell field hockey head coach Donna Hornibrook has announced the Big Red’s incoming class of 2014.The Big Red will add eight players to next year’s squad, as Hanna Balleza (Columbia, Md.), Mallory Bannon (Hopkinton, Mass.), Shannon Berry (Menlo Park, Calif.), Izzy Fratt (St. Louis, Mo.), Christine Hibler (St. Louis, Mo.), Carolyn Horner (Allentown, N.J.), Elly Plappert (Newtown, Pa.) and Brittany Thompson (Bronx, N.Y.) will join the team for the 2010 season. The class of eight players come from seven different states and consists of four attackers, one midfielder, one back and one goalkeeper.

Hornibrook, a native of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, has an enjoyed an excellent field hockey career, not only as an outstanding player, but as a very successful coach.

Head coach Donna Hornibrook also introduced rising seniors Kate Thompson and Sara Sanders as captains of the upcoming 2010 season.
