ITHACA, N.Y. -- The busiest day on the 2009-10 athletic calendar takes place on Friday, Nov. 20, as the wrestling, men's basketball and men's hockey team will all play host to events on campus that evening. Fans are asked to make note of the special start times for these three events to make entering and exiting the evening's events as smooth as possible.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men’s hockey team plays its final homestand of the fall semester this weekend with a three-game set at Lynah Rink. Cornell opens on Friday with Princeton at 7 p.m. before taking on Quinnipiac on Saturday at 7 p.m. The three-game home stand concludes on Tuesday when Cornell plays host to its travel partner, Colgate, in a 7 p.m. contest. All three games can be heard on the radio on WHCU 870 AM in the Ithaca area with Jason Weinstein providing the call. Additionally, live video of the weekend’s action will be available through the Cornell RedCast subscription service.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Blake Gallagher scored two goals and Colin Greening had three assists as the Cornell men's hockey team routed Brown, 6-0, on Saturday night at Meehan Auditorium in Providence, R.I. The win comes a day after the Big Red suffered its first defeat of the season, a 4-2 loss at Yale.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Brendan Mason's goal with 4:25 to play in the third period would serve as the game-winner as the Cornell men's hockey team dropped a 4-2 contest at Yale on Friday at Ingalls Rink in New Haven, Conn. The loss sends Cornell to 3-1 on the year and 2-1 in ECAC Hockey play, while Yale improves to 2-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in league action.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- A man who built a distinguished career leading tough men, Marine Corps Lt. Gen. John M. (Jay) Paxton Jr. ‘B.S., ‘73, M. Eng ‘74, will join a notable array of mentors at the Cornell Football Association’s fifth annual Career Day at Schoellkopf this spring. Gen. Paxton is Director for Operations, J-3, of the Joint Staff, which assists the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in accomplishing his mission. He was previously Chief of Staff for Multinational Force Iraq in Baghdad and, before that, commanding general of the First Marine Division.

Cornell will open up the road trip against the Bulldogs on Friday at 7 p.m. before facing Brown on Saturday, also starting at 7 p.m. Both games can be heard in the Ithaca area on WHCU 870 AM and worldwide through the Cornell Redcast subscription service with Jason Weinstein providing the call.
