New England Lacrosse Classic

ITHACA, N.Y. – The time and location of the Cornell men’s lacrosse game vs. Dartmouth has been changed, as the Big Red has been selected to participate in the New England Lacrosse Classic on Saturday, April 3. No. 6/6 Cornell will take on the Big Green at Gillette Stadium at noon. The game is the first of a double-header, as No. 8/7 Princeton will face No. 16/15 Brown in the nightcap at 2:30 p.m. Tickets for the New England Lacrosse Classic will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, Feb. 16 through TicketMaster.

ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 6/6 Cornell men’s lacrosse team opens preparations for the 2010 season with its first day of practice today, Monday, Feb 1. The team plays its first game in three weeks, as the Big Red will travels to Hobart on Saturday, Feb. 27, to take on the Statesmen at 1 p.m.

ITHACA, N.Y. – it was quite a decade for the Big Red men’s lacrosse team. The program won seven Ivy League championships and advanced to the NCAA Final Four twice, including an appearance in last year’s national championship game. During the span from 2000-2009, Cornell compiled a 107-38 record overall (50-10 Ivy), had 39 All-American honors, 37 first-team All-Ivy selections, four Ivy Players of the Year, three Ivy Rookies of the Year, one Tewaaraton Trophy winner, one USILA National Player of the Year, two USILA National Midfielders of the Year, one USILA National Defender of the Year and one USILA National Goalie of the Year.

ITHACA, N.Y. – For the second time in the four-year history of the award, Jeff Tambroni, The Richard M. Moran Head Coach of Men's Lacrosse at Cornell University, has been named the FieldTurf Division I Men’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year. Tambroni was also the runaway winner in 2007.
