ITHACA, N.Y. -- A man who built a distinguished career leading tough men, Marine Corps Lt. Gen. John M. (Jay) Paxton Jr. ‘B.S., ‘73, M. Eng ‘74, will join a notable array of mentors at the Cornell Football Association’s fifth annual Career Day at Schoellkopf this spring. Gen. Paxton is Director for Operations, J-3, of the Joint Staff, which assists the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in accomplishing his mission. He was previously Chief of Staff for Multinational Force Iraq in Baghdad and, before that, commanding general of the First Marine Division.

ITHACA, N.Y. – On a chilly night in Ithaca, N.Y., the sprint football senior class of 2010 took over and dominated in their final game for the Big Red, posting a 31-14 victory over Mansfield on Schoellkopf Field. The win gave Cornell another winning season at 4-3 and seniors Dan Rowoth, Upal Sarker and Chris Stanton ended their careers by having a hand in three of the Big Red’s four touchdowns.

ITHACA, N.Y. - Cornell and Mansfield will meet for the fourth time in program history this Friday, Oct. 30 as the Big Red welcomes the CSFL’s newest team to Schoellkopf Field for a 7 p.m. kickoff. For the third time in the series history, the Mountaineers are coming off a victory as it enters its game with Cornell, but Mansfield has yet to put together a two-game winning streak. Cornell has won all three games in the series, outscoring the Mountaineers, 93-28, but Mansfield put up a good fight in the finale last season, as the Big Red escaped with the 38-28 victory.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Sheets of rain, upturned umbrellas, and slippery balls were the theme of a heartbreaking 10-9 loss to Army in the final CSFL conference game of the year. Cornell dropped its record to 3-3 and finished its season with a CSFL record of 3-2 to end hopes of a CSFL title.
