ITHACA, N.Y. - The Big Red volleyball team opens its 39th season this weekend as it hosts the Cornell Invitational, welcoming Siena, Saint Francis (Pa.) and Lamar to Newman Arena. The weekend will include a full-slate of games; beginning with Lamar vs. Saint Francis (Pa.) on Friday, Sept. 3 at 4:00 p.m., before Cornell takes on Siena in the nightcap at 7:00 p.m. Saturday’s action kicks off with the Big Red facing the Red Flash at 11:00 a.m., before the Saints play the Cardinals at 1:00 p.m. The evening sessions begin with Saint Francis (Pa.) taking on Siena at 5:00 p.m., before Cornell wraps up the tournament against Lamar at 7:00 p.m.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Sarah Bernson, The Wendy Schaenen '79 Head Coach Of Volleyball, has rounded out her coaching staff with the hiring of former UConn standout Kate Seabaugh as an assistant coach for the Big Red program. Seabaugh joins the staff while working towards a Master of Engineering degree with a concentration in Financial Engineering at Cornell.

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell volleyball team enjoyed its annual preseason picnic before opening its first week of practice as it begins preparations for the 2010 season. Second-year head coach Sarah Bernson will have less than two weeks to get the team ready for its season opener as the Big Red hosts the Cornell Invitational on Friday, Sept. 3 and Saturday, Sept. 4 at Newman Arena.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Sarah Bernson, the Wendy Schaenen '79 Head Coach of Volleyball, has announced the Big Red’s incoming class of 2014.The Big Red will add six players to next year’s squad, as Rachel D’Epagnier (Coopersburg, Pa.), Janel Forte (Euless, Texas), Brittany Fox (Rochester, Minn.), Ainsley Lovejoy (Las Vegas, Nev.), Kelly Marble (Davie, Fla.) and Sierra Young (Downers Grove, Ill.) will join the team for the 2010 season.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Megan Mushovic was named the 2009 volleyball team MVP, while Erin McCarthy and Meagan Tatum have been named captains for the upcoming 2010 season, as was announced at the team’s annual banquet on Saturday, April 24. The team also said goodbye to its three seniors, Megan Mushovic, Jessica Misse and Juliana Rogers.
