6/22/2009 1:32:13 PM

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Seven home games and three games against teams that advanced to the 2008 NCAA tournament highlight the 2009 Cornell women's soccer schedule, released on Monday by head coach Danielle LaRoche.

Highlighting the Big Red's slate in 2009 is a trip to the George Mason tournament on Sept. 18-20, with the Big Red opening the four-team classic with a matchup against William & Mary, which advanced to the NCAA tournament a year ago. The tournament will conclude with LaRoche facing off against the school she served as an assistant coach at during the 2006 season.

Also on the slate are Ivy League matchups against Harvard and Princeton, two schools that earned berths to the NCAA tournament last season. Cornell will play host to Harvard on Oct. 10 and will travel to Princeton on Oct. 31.

Cornell opens the season against Binghamton on Sept. 4 at Berman Field, a match that will pit new assistant coach Elke Reisdorph against the squad that she worked with last season. The remainder of the home non-conference slate includes games against Manhattan, Colgate and Bucknell, with Columbia and Brown joining Harvard in Ivy League games at Berman Field.

The Big Red will take to the road for non-league games against Niagara, Lehigh and Siena in addition to the two games at the George Mason Tournament. Also on the slate are conference contests at Penn, Yale, Dartmouth and Princeton.
