ITHACA, N.Y. -- The cornell women's polo team responded to its first loss of the 2009-10 season with an impressive 19-16 win over the Toronto Polo Club on Friday evening at the Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red improved to 13-1 with the win.

Each team scored once before the Big Red went on an eight-goal run that put them up 9-1 after the first. Toronto fought back to make it 12-6 at the half. The third chukker saw more of the same and it was a game heading into the fourth at 15-13 with Cornell out front. The Big Red would pull out to a five-goal lead in the fourth before Toronto closed at the end to make it close at 19-16. Lizzie Wisner tallied 13 with Erin Bold adding four, Jess Cross scoring one and the ponies chipping in with a goal.
