NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The sophomore doubles team of Sam Fleck and Quoc-Daniel Nguyen upset the fourth-seeded team from Brown on Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional.

Fleck and Nguyen, seeded seventh, won a pair of matches Sunday. They started off with an 8-5 victory over Niagara's Michael Elortegui and Brandon Gallegos, then stormed past Brown's Soufiane Azargui and Brandon Burke, 9-7. All four semifinal teams come from Ivy League schools. The Cornell pair will take on Columbia's Ashok Narayana and Max Schnur, seeded second, on Monday.

The tandem of junior Venkat Iyer and freshman Dragos Dima was also in action Sunday, but the Big Red pair was eliminated by Yale's third-seeded Marc Powers and Daniel Hoffman, 8-5, in the Round of 16.

Fleck was also the last remaining singles player in the main draw for the Big Red, but he was ousted by top-seeded Matija Pecotic of Princeton, 6-3, 6-1, in the Round of 16.
