NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The men's tennis team's lengthy run at the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional finally came to a close Monday after the doubles team of sophomores Sam Fleck and Quoc-Daniel Nguyen fell just one victory short of reaching the finals.
 
Fleck and Nguyen, seeded seventh, were eliminated by the second-seeded Columbia tandem of Ashok Narayana and Max Schnur, 8-6. It was the Cornell pair's first loss in 11 matches together this fall. Fleck and Nguyen won the A flights of both the Columbia Classic and Cornell Fall Invitational on consecutive weeks earlier this month.
 
The Big Red has completed its fall tournament season. The team will start dual match play Jan. 26 at George Washington.
