NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Yale netted a tying tally in the 90th minute to send Saturday's men's soccer game at Reese Stadium to overtime, but sophomore Allen Michael Capo headed in his first career goal in the 99th minute to give Cornell its second straight win.

The Big Red (3-9-1, 1-2 Ivy) outshot the Bulldogs (1-10, 0-3 Ivy) in the first half, 7-3, and was rewarded for its efforts early in the second frame, benefiting from a mistake from Yale in the 58th minute. The Bulldogs goalkeeper came out to clear a Cornell cross, but the ball bounced off his own defender and into the back of the net.

As time wound down, Yale pressed to equalize. With just eight seconds remaining in regulation, Nicky Downs brought the Bulldogs even, slotting home a cross from Dylan Snow-Onderdonk.

Yale carried the momentum into overtime, rattling off the first three shots of the extra period, but Cornell made its chance count. After junior Liam Crotty had a try blocked, junior Zach Bialik got the ball on the left side and sent in a perfectly placed bending ball that Capo headed over the hands of the Yale keeper to earn Cornell the victory.

Nine different Big Red players registered shots in the win, with sophomore Jonathan Cullom leading the team with three. Sophomore goalkeeper Mitchell Meyer made four saves in the win, his second this week.

Cornell will look to stay hot when the team returns next Saturday for a matchup with Brown at 4:30 p.m. at Berman Field.
