An outstanding attackman on the Cornell lacrosse team from 1969-71, he set the all-time career records for points (162) and assists (82), and the season points mark (74 on 43-31 in 1971). He also set Ivy League records for career (83) and season (32 in both 1970 and '71) points. He was an All-America first-team selection in 1971, after receiving All-America honorable mention in 1970. A unanimous All-Ivy first-team pick in '71, he was second team All-Ivy as a junior and third team as a sophomore. During his three-year varsity career, the Big Red compiled an overall record of 32-4, figured in three consecutive Ivy titles and won the first NCAA lacrosse championship tournament in 1971, when Rimmer served as tri-captain. He played on the freshman hockey team in 1967-68. He graduated from New Toronto (Ont.) High School.
