She was a five-time All-Ivy first-team selection in gymnastics, winning the all-around and balance beam title in 1982, floor exercise and vault in 1983, and floor ex. in 1984. She captured New York state championships in vault, uneven bars and floor ex as a freshman, and as a sophomore she set a New York state meet record in the all-around in capturing all four events. As a junior, she again won the all-around title at the state meet and won her third consecutive crown on both uneven bars and floor exercise. She place second on the balance beam at the Eastern championships as a freshman, while becoming the first Cornell gymnast to earn a trip to the AIAW nationals. She is a graduate of Walt Whitman High School and a former resident of Huntington Station, N.Y.
