He was a right halfback on Cornell’s first undefeated football team in 1915, which was named the national champion by Walter Camp. He played center midfield in lacrosse and co-captained the 1916 team. In 1959 he was inducted into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame and served as president of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse League in 1925. He was appointed chairman of the USILA Rules Committee in 1928 and served in this capacity until 1941. He was a lacrosse official for 20 years and was one of the outstanding promoters and workers for the game of lacrosse. As an undergraduate he lived in Stamford, Conn.
