He placed eighth at the 1921 IC4A cross country championships, as Cornell won its second straight Intercollegiate title in capturing six of the first nine places out of 75 contestants. In addition to winning the Intercollegiates that year, Cornell went undefeated: won the Syracuse Invitational, placing first out of seven teams; defeated Harvard at Cambridge, and won a quadrangular meet at New York City. He placed 15th at the IC4A cross country championships in 1920, as the five Cornell men who counted in the scoring all finished inside of the first 18 finishers. He was elected captain of 1922 cross country team but left school before his senior year. He lettered in track in 1921, running the mile and two mile events. He ran the anchor leg of the second-place four-mile relay at the Penn Relays in 1921. He lettered in cross country in l920 and '21.
