He was an excellent three-sport athlete. In soccer, he was a two-time All-Ivy first-team selection as a back and received All-America honorable mention in 1956. He was the team MVP his senior year. In tennis, he competed at No. 1 singles as a junior and senior was at No. 3 and 4 singles as a sophomore. He was the No. 1 player in squash for two years. He captained all three sports his senior year.
