Rowed 3 seasons in varsity boat. During those 3 years, Cornell crews won IRA championship twice and competed at the Henley Royal Regatta, where he rowed No. 6 seat. Stroked the U.S. National 8-oared crew which placed third in World Championships in Munich 1981; also rowed with U.S. National 8-oared crew which finished seventh in the World Championships in Duisberg, Germany in 1983. Bow-man of silver medal-winning 4-oared wo/coxswain crew at 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
