He was Cornell’s all-time career point leader until the record was broken by Lance Nethery in 1978. Ferguson, who led the team in scoring all three years, scored 91 goals and had 96 assists for 187 career points. He still holds the Cornell record for goals scored in a season (37) and is tied with Nethery for most goals scored in a career (91). In 1965-66, he was the national scoring leader with 71 points; led the ECAC Division I in scoring with 62 points, and the Ivy League with 31. Ferguson was selected to the All-America first team by the American College Hockey Coaches Association and to the championship tournament first team and All-Ivy first team. In 1966-67, when Cornell won the NCAA tournament with a 27-1-1 record, he was again named to the All-America and All-East first teams and was second team All-Ivy. As an undergraduate, he resided in Birsay, Sask.
