He was a standout end on the football team from 1926-28 and captained the squad as a senior. As a defenseman in lacrosse, he was named to the All-America first team in 1929. He won three letters in football and one in lacrosse, and was a substitute on the hockey team in 1928 and '29. He participated in track as a freshman. He is a member emeritus of the University Council and a former trustee (1966-71). He was awarded of the Cornell Medal in 1971. A career investment banker and specialist in off-shore oil and gas exploration, he has twice been decorated by Queen Elizabeth II for his service to Australian finance and business. As an undergraduate he resided in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Cleveland Heights High School.
