Meade was outstanding in all three sports - as a halfback in football, a basketball guard and a baseball infielder - from 1953-56. He was the first Cornellian to win letters in three sports. He was an All-Ivy halfback in 1954, and that same year he was the Eastern League's base stealing champion and EIBL runner-up in batting. Meade co-captained the 1955-56 basketball team.
