In lacrosse McEneaney was a three-time All-America and All-Ivy first team selection as an attackman. He was twice named Ivy Lacrosse Player of the Year and ranks second on Cornell's all-time career scoring list with 92 goals, 164 assists for 256 points. His 164 assists place him first in career assists. He also holds the Cornell record for most assist in a season (65). As a senior in 1977, he was the recipient of the USILA's Lt. Raymond Enners Memorial Award as the Outstanding Player in Division I, and in 1975 was given the Jack Turnbull Award as the Outstanding Attackman in Division I. McEneaney was named the team MVP in 1975 and '77 and was MVP of the NCAA tournament his senior year when Cornell won its second consecutive national title. As a split end in football, McEneaney lettered as a sophomore and senior, was named to the second All-Ivy team in '76, and led the team in receiving and was second in scoring as a senior. During his two varsity seasons of play, he caught 54 passes for 713 yards and scored seven TDs.
