A three-year letter winner as a pivotman, he was a regular in all games throughout his career. A co-captain of the team as a senior, he received Eastern Intercollegiate League honorable mention honors in 1951 and 1952. He led the team in rebounds for two years and was ranked sixth in the league as a senior. His 14.9 rebound average in 1951 tied him for 15th place in the nation. He was third on the team in scoring in 1951 with 237 points; his top games were 20 points vs. NYU and 26 vs. Fordham that year. He currently ranks second on Cornell’s all-time career rebounding list (as of ’84) with 922. Eydt helped the 1950-51 team to a 20-5 record, the best ever mark by a Cornell basketball squad. He is a graduate of Binghamton, N.Y. Central High School.
