As golf coach for men and women and an instructor in physical education, Hall was a member of the staff for 38 years, the third longest tenure of any Cornell coach. He was also a national figure as an office (serving as vice president, secretary, treasurer and a member of the executive committee) of the national Professional Golfers Association over a period of 11 years. His connection with the PGA brought him in touch with many of the greatest names in the sport –Arnie Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan and several others. His teams compiled a record of 163 wins, 112 losses and eight ties, and his 1946 squad won the Eastern championship. Hall conducted numerous tournaments while at Cornell, including the U.S. Golf Association Tournament, and the Central New York PGA Tournament.
