He lettered as a fullback on the excellent Cornell football teams in 1900 and 1901. The '00 team went 10-2 and 11-1 in '01. He was named to Walter Camp's All-America third team his senior year. Schoellkopf was Cornell's head football coach in 1907 and 1908, compiling a two-year record of 15-3-1, with an 8-2 mark in 1907 and 7-1-1 in 1908. Schoellkopf Memorial Hall, which houses the Cornell football offices and locker room, was built with funds from his friends in 1915 and named in Henry's memory after his death in 1912.
