In 1949, his finest season statistically, he was selected to the All-Ivy first team, the Associated Press All-East second team and was Associated Press All-America honorable mention. In 1950 he was co-winner of the team’s most valuable player award. Over three seasons he averaged a 4.6 yards per carry (1,573 yards on 339 carries). He lettered in baseball one year (1949). He was an outfielder on the team that tied for second in the Eastern Intercollegiate Baseball League.
