Cornell University Athletics

An outstanding two-sport star, he was captain of the basketball team in 1933-34 and led the Eastern Intercollegiate League in scoring.  He was a unanimous selection as a guard on the 1934 EIBL all-star team.  He also captained the 1933 football team and was a three-time honorable mention All-America selection as a halfback.  Following graduation from Cornell, he went on to an outstanding career as a quarterback in the Canadian Football League.  He was a seven-time All-Canadian selection and was a charter member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.  He was also a member of two Canadian national basketball championship teams as a player-coach.
