An excellent center on the teams of 1948, 1949 and '50 Pierik was the keystone of the offensive line those years and helped Cornell compile a 23-4 record. The '48 and '49 teams both recorded 8-1 marks, with the '50 team going 7-2. Pierik, who co-captained the team as a senior, was named to the Associated Press All-East second team, and Collier's All-East and the United Press All-East teams.
