Three-year letterman in football and baseball. Played in backfield and was co-captain of football team in 1939 when Cornell won Ivy title for second straight year and was ranked No. 4 in the nation. As right fielder in baseball, he was named to Eastern Intercollegiate League 2nd team in 1939 and to the league's 1st team in 1940.
