A double letter-winner in both football and wrestling, he earned greatest fame as a starting tackle and outstanding kicker on the gridiron, handling both kickoffs and field goals. He was one of the stars of the undefeated teams of ’21 and ’22 and was known as one of the fastest tackles in the East. He was the Eastern Intercollegiate wrestling champion in the light heavyweight class as a junior and again as a senior. Coincidentally, Cornell won the Eastern Intercollegiate team championship both times.
