In 1948 and ’49, his brilliant quarterbacking and passing helped tremendously in Cornell’s record – 16 wins in 18 games, and two Ivy championships. He passed for 1,678 yards in his three-year varsity career, including a 10x10 performance, with three touchdowns, against Princeton in 1947 when the Big Red won, 28-21, in a come-from-behind victory. He was selected to the Associated Press All-Ivy second team and received honorable mention AP All-America honors, n addition to being named to the AP All-East team and Collier’s All-East squad. He played in the East-West game his senior year and was heralded as one of the outstanding players of the game. As an undergraduate he resided in Miami, Fla., and served as city judge in his recent hometown of Cortland, N.Y.
