His hockey teams compiled a seven-year record of 163-27-2, with the 1970 team going 29-0, which is unmatched in college hockey history. His teams won five Ivy League, four Eastern and two NCAA championships. He was named Coach of the Year in 1968. His lacrosse teams compiled a three-year mark of 35-1 and won Ivy League titles in 1966 and ’68, with the 1967 team finishing runner-up. He was also coach of hockey and lacrosse at R.P.I. from 1950 to 1963, compiling an overall hockey record of 187-90-7 and led R.P.I. to NCAA championships in both hockey and lacrosse. The former coach and general manager of the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL, he is currently general manager of Detroit’s farm team, the Adirondack Red Wings, in Glens Falls, N.Y. and served as director of the Glens Falls Civic Center.
