A high jump specialist in track, he won that event at the indoor IC4A championships in 1946, after tying for first place at the indoor IC4As in 1945. He tied for fourth at the indoor IC4As in 1948 and tied for third in '49, while taking fourth place outdoors in '45. He tied for first at the outdoor Heps in 1945, while taking second place in outdoors in both 1948 and '49 and indoors in 1948. He was a two-way end and place-kicker in football, winning letters in 1944, 1945 and 1947. He received Associated Press All-America and AP All-East honorable mention in 1944. Robeson, who was out of collegiate competition in 1946 for a tour of duty in the U.S. Army Air Corps, received his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University in June 1949.
