An outstanding oarsman, he rowed with the crew for three years. He stroked the undefeated varsity eight-oared shell of 1909 to the American Henley title in Philadelphia and to the IRA championship at Poughkeepsie. In 1906, he stroked the freshman crew team to a runner-up finish at the IRAs. He was elected to the Helms Hall of Rowing Hall of Fame in 1959. Weed retired in 1951 as vice president of the Detroit Steel Products Co., and died in Weston, Conn., in 1964.
