In basketball he was named to the Eastern Intercollegiate League second team at guard in both 1950-51 and 1951-52. As a senior, he was co-captain and was second on the team in scoring with an average of 11.9. He averaged 6.8 assists as a junior to rank fourth in the nation. In baseball he tied for the Eastern League batting crown in 1952 with a .469 average, led the league in stolen bases, and was the top fielding shortstop. He co-captained the diamondmen as a senior when he helped Cornell win the league’s Southern Division title with a 6-2 record. He was named to the All-EIBL Southern Division first team in ’52.
