Outstanding distance runner, 1911-12. He set the American two-mile record in Ithaca in his senior year.  He was the IC4A cross country champ in his sophomore year and finished second to Cornell’s John Paul Jones the next two years. In addition, he was the IC4A two-mile champion twice (record holder). A three-time All-American, he won the 3000-meter team race at the 1912 Olympics.
