IC4A hammer throw champion 1965. Won Heps shot put in '65; hammer throw champion '64 and weight throw champ in '65. Won HT at 1967 Pan American Games. Competed in hammer throw at 1972 Olympic Games. Gallagher, Robert E. Won three varsity letters in basketball (1942, 1943 and 1947), after earning his numerals as a freshman in 1941. He ranked third on the team in scoring (129 pts.) in 1943. He was captain-elect of the 1944 team, but left the University to serve in World War II. Was acting captain of the 1946-47 team, helping the squad to an overall record of 14-8.
