He was a three-time All-American as a midfielder in lacrosse, earning third team honors in 1989 and 1990 and honorable mention in 1988. He was also a two-time All-Ivy first-team pick (in 1989 and '90) and was second team All-Ivy in 1988. The team MVP in 1990, he finished his four-year career with 118 points on 72 goals and 46 assists. He was named to the NCAA all-tournament team in 1987, when Cornell lost 11-10 to Johns Hopkins in the final to go 13-1 on the season. He played on the 1988 team that also finished runner-up in the NCAA tournament. He played pro lacrosse in the Major Indoor Lacrosse League after graduation.
