Mount St. Mary's Closes Season Opening Road Trip for Women's Hoops

STREAKS, STORYLINES & SIDEBARS 

• Cornell women's basketball looks to close out its four-game road trip on a high note to begin its 2023-24 season when it travels to Emmitsburg, Md. to face Mount St. Mary's.
• The Big Red will take on the Mountaineers on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 5:00 p.m.
• The Big Red was selected seventh in the Ivy League preseason media poll. Cornell finished 10-17 in the 2022-23 season, ending at seventh in the Ancient Eight. The Big Red tallied a road win over Brown and a sweep over Dartmouth in conference play.
• Senior captain Kaya Ingram has had a strong start to her last season on East Hill, leading Cornell in scoring in two of its three games so far while shooting 75.0 percent from the free throw line (18-24).
• Rachel Kaus has been a key player off the bench for the Big Red, knocking down nine of her 15 shots and going 81.3% from the charity stripe in three games. The first-year theme also carries over for Azareya Kilgoe, as the Seaford, Del. native has scored 24 points while leading Cornell with 11 assists handed out.

• The Big Red dropped its second game of 2023-24 to the WKU Lady Toppers by a score of 62-56 on Monday night from Bowling Green.
• Cornell outscored WKU 22-15 in the fourth quarter, but had 27 turnovers that led to 37 points for the Lady Toppers in the defeat.
• Senior captain Kaya Ingram led the Big Red with 15 points for the second time in three games while shooting 5-11 from the field.
• Mia Beam followed her senior counterpart with a career-high 13 points, including three from downtown in the loss. Rachel Kaus also played quality minutes off the bench, scoring 13 points with seven coming from the free throw line.
• Cornell's 56 total points are the lowest the Big Red have scored since putting 42 in its final home game of the 2022-23 season to Yale on Feb. 25. 
• Acacia Hayes led the Lady Toppers with 18 points, while Aaliyah Pitts was the other WKU player in double figures with 10.
