STREAKS, STORYLINES & SIDEBARS 

  • Cornell women's basketball returns to the court following winter break to host Stony Brook for the Big Red's final non-conference game of the 2023-24 season.
  • The Big Red will take on the Seawolves on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 1:00 p.m.
  • The Big Red was selected seventh in the Ivy League preseason media poll. Cornell finished 10-17 in the 2022-23 season, ending at seventh in the Ancient Eight. The Big Red tallied a road win over Brown and a sweep over Dartmouth in conference play.
  • Sophomore Emily Pape seemed to have found her rhythm again when she tallied her fourth-straight double-digit scoring outing against Marist. Of the four games, two were 20+-point performances, including a career-high matching 27 against Syracuse. She's averaging 53.4 percent shooting from the field over the stretch, and leads the team in scoring with 121 points on the season.
  • Pape's performances at Syracuse and against Marist earned her the title of Ivy League Player of the Week. Against the Orange, Pape lead all scorers with 27 points, matching her career high. She followed up with a 13-rebound 11-point double-double in the home win over the Red Foxes. In the same game, she tallied 6 steals and committed no turnovers. She's the fourth player in all of Division I since the 2009-10 season to put up such numbers and the just 29th player in that same stretch to total 10+ points, 10+ rebounds, 6+ steals, and no turnovers.
  • Senior captain Kaya Ingram and freshman Rachel Kaus follow, each tallying over 100 points so far this season.

  • The Big Red's 13-point victory marked the largest of the season, as Kaya Ingram and Emily Pape helped power Cornell to its sixth win.
  • Sophomore Emily Pape had her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Pape also had a career-high six steals in the Big Red's first victory over its New York foe since a 76-61 decision in Ithaca on Nov. 25, 1991.
  • Senior Kaya Ingram came in as the closer for the Cornell Big Red Women's Basketball team, netting ten points in the fourth quarter as part of a new career-high 20. Her 10 fourth quarter-points helped the Big Red double the Red Foxes fourth quarter points.
