He has a top-five overall time in five different races in Big Red history, including the first ever sub-2:00 time in the 200 breaststroke where he finished with a time of 1:58.95 at the Ivy League championships.
He also has the school's second-best 100 breastroke time (54.51), third-best 200 individual medley time (1:49.79), third-best 400 individual medley (4:00.15), and he was a member of Cornell's best 200 medley relay team (1:28.75).
Against Harvard on November 15, Cai had the team's season-best overall time in three events: 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, and 200 individual medley.
At Burnaby South
A graduate of Burnaby South Secondary School, Cai was his swim team's MVP. He holds three zone records and one high school provincial record. Cai was also member of the Canadian junior national team where he broke the provincial 17 and under 100 breastroke record.
