Bart Guccia enters his 12th year with the sprint football team and his ninth as co-head coach of the squad in 2016. Guccia took over the majority of the on-field coaching and game day decisions in August of 2008.

From 2010 to 2015, Guccia's teams racked up 21 wins and a .500 winning percentage in the CSFL. Wide receiver Spenser Gruenenfelder accumulated more than 1,000 receiving yards from 2010 to 2014.

In his first season as co-head coach, the Big Red ended the 2008 season on a four-game winning-streak to finish with a 5-2 record, the school’s third consecutive season with an above .500 record. Cornell took second-place in the CSFL with a record of 3-1.

Guccia graduated from Hobart College with a bachelor's degree. He was captain of the 1970 football team for the Statesmen and was awarded the Joseph Abraham Training Room Award and the Babe Kraus Memorial Award, giving to the athlete of the year, in 1971.

A native of Endicott, N.Y., he played football, basketball and baseball at Union Endicott High School. Returning to the school in 1971, he taught chemistry until his retirement in 2004. From 1975 through 1992 he served as the offensive coordinator with the school's varsity football team, and in 1993 through 2004 he served as the head coach. During his tenure the team won the NYSSWA state championships in both 1979 and 1989, and his teams played in the state playoffs in 1995, 1999, 2000 and 2003.

Guccia also coached the girls softball team from 1978 through 1985, and in 1986 he started the varsity boys lacrosse program. During his time as head coach of football and lacrosse he was awarded Coach of the Year honors six times.

Guccia resides in Endicott with his wife, Francene. They have three daughters and one grandson.
