Meinig Fieldhouse
Named in honor of former chairman of the Board of Trustees, Peter C. Meinig ’61, a new 91,150 square-foot indoor field facility will enable year-round/all-season practice, training, skills development, and competition for varsity student-athletes, and will welcome the entire Cornell community through consistent, expanded access to recreation. The facility broke ground in November of 2024.
Located on Tower Road—at the center of the Cornell campus—the fieldhouse will feature a 360’x180’ indoor practice turf, with a scoreboard, spectator area, and storage spaces, and a mezzanine with team rooms and media vantage points. New to Cornell, the facility will be able to accommodate full-size/NCAA regulation lacrosse competitions as well as football practices, and will provide an excellent indoor soccer training environment. It will also include dividers to enable multiple groups to use the facility concurrently, supporting and vastly enhancing capacity for many users.
