Late Goal Gives Princeton 1-0 Victory Over Cornell In Women's Soccer

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Junior forward Krista Ariss found the back of the net from 25 yards out with just 1:26 remaining in regulation to give Princeton a 1-0 victory over Cornell in Ivy League women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.

After being unsuccessful on its first 29 shots, the Tiger offense finally triumphed over Cornell freshman goalkeeper Katie Thomas on its 30th attempt with Ariss' game-winner.

Thomas played an outstanding game in net, making 13 saves, while Princeton goalkeeper Catherine Glenn made three saves in the contest to earn the shutout.

With the victory, Princeton moves to 11-1-1 overall with a 5-0 Ivy mark. The Big Red falls to 3-5-3 on the season with a 1-3-1 record in league play.

Cornell returns to action Tuesday, October 30, when it travels to Bucknell for a 3 p.m. game.
