Binghamton Hands Big Red Women's Soccer 2-0 Loss

VESTAL, N.Y. -- Binghamton University sophomore Tracy Kasmarcik assisted on both of her team's second-half goals, as BU defeated Cornell 2-0 in women's soccer action on Wednesday.

Kasmarcik set up senior Sarah Young for a goal at 60:23 into the game and then nine minutes later found freshman Tatiana Mathelier, who tipped in the ball past Big Red goalkeeper Katie Thomas. Thomas made five saves in the game.

Despite outshooting the Bearcats 16-11, Cornell went scoreless for only the second time this season. Binghamton goalkeeper Lauren Cherry had 10 saves to earn the shutout.

With the victory, Binghamton moves to 6-4 on the season, while Cornell drops to 2-2-2.

The Big Red returns to action on Saturday afternoon when it resumes its Ivy League schedule in a matchup at Pennsylvania. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m..
