CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard women's soccer team notched a pair of goals per half in a 4-0 Ivy win today against Cornell at Ohiri Field Saturday afternoon. Katie Westfall tallied a goal and an assist for the Crimson, which remains unbeaten in Ivy play with a 2-0-1. With the loss, the Big Red falls to 6-3-1 on the year with a 1-3 conference mark.
Harvard notched its first tally at 17:09 as freshman Maile Tavepholjalern notched her first career goal on assists from Westfall and Joey Yenne. The Crimson extended its lead to two goals just over four minutes later as sophomore Alisha Moran put a shot past Cornell goalkeeper Katie Thomas with assists going to Sara Sedgwick and Caitlin Butler.
After heading into the second half with a 2-0 advantage, Harvard continued to pressure the Cornell defense as Westfall scored her team's third goal of the day at 50:30. Katie Hodel tallied a goal at 78:18 to complete the game's scoring.
The Big Red will return to action Wednesday when it travels to West Point to face Army for a 7 p.m. contest.
