NEW HAVEN, CT - The Cornell women's squash team fell to No. 1 ranked, and eventual champion, Trinity in the first round of the Howe Cup on Friday. Losses to Dartmouth and Brown in the consolation games resulted in an eighth place finish for the Big Red.

Cornell, falling to a 5-8 record, failed to win any matches in the loss to Trinity. Junior Olga Puigdemont Sola (Blanes Girona, Spain) had the only win in the 8-1 loss to Dartmouth on Saturday, defeating Sarah West by a score of 3-0. In Sunday's consolation game against Brown, Cornell fell 7-2, with 3-0 wins from Puigdemont Sola and senior Andrea McNeely (Newtown Square, Pa).
