ITHACA, N.Y.- In a scoring summary that looks shockingly similar throughout, Princeton handed the Big Red it's first loss of the season in no uncertain terms. The Red, who had picked up two wins yesterday, one against the higher ranked Penn Quakers, ran into a brick wall today in the form of the reigning Champion Princeton team.

It was a blowout in every sense of the word. At every single skill position Penn seemed to have an answer. In fact, sophomore Ben Bernstein was the lone Cornell player to record a set win in the entire contest, though other players came close. Not even sophomore standout Matt Serediak was immune to the onslaught, falling to fellow All-American El-Halaby at No. 1.

Though the loss to Princeton was certainly no surprise, the magnitude of the defeat should unsettle a team that just a day ago seemed ready make waves in the Ivy League, or at least cause some awe at the strength of the Princeton team. This loss, fluke or not, certainly brought the team down to earth in the cruelest fashion.

Still, the Cornell team views itself as only improving from last year, losing only member while aging and adding talent, and their record still stands at 2-1 on the season. The team looks to rebound in two weeks when it takes on Harvard in Boston.
